‘I did this for me’: Helen Flanagan explains decision to undergo surgery after split from Scott Sinclair

Helen Flanagan shares a video of her breast surgery and gives honest explanation of why she went under the knife

Helen Flangan has shared a before and after video of her breast surgery that she underwent in January.

The former Coronation Street star, 32, from Bury, shared a video with her fans in January explaining that she had gone under the knife to “boost her confidence” after her breasts had changed from breast feeding her children.

The actress has three children Matilda, Delilah and Charlie with ex-fiance footballer Scott Sinclair. The couple split in October 2022 after 13 years together.

In a new video shared with her one million Instagram followers the actress showed off her breast transformation. Since her surgery, Helen has kept fans up to date with honest posts on her social media.

In the short clip Helen can be seen filming herself in her bathroom mirror braless, wearing a white vest with grey joggers and hair swept up into a bun.

Helen captioned the post: “I was quite open here on Instagram in January about my recent boob job. This was something I wanted to do for a really long time and by doing so I’ve really got my confidence back. I breastfed in total for 3 years. Matilda I fed for eight months. Delilah i fed for 13 months. Charlie I fed for 14months.

“As soon as I finished my breastfeeding journey with Charlie I wanted to get them done pretty much straight away. I felt like you could tie them in a bow. I had to wait though for six months after feeding and then I went for it in January.

“I don’t regret one second of my breastfeeding journeys they were precious times. I was a little bit nervous I was worried they were going to be too big for my frame but they are so perfect for me and so in proportion.”

The actress continued: “I couldn’t be happier with my results. I love them and I keep showing all my girlfriends. I am all for body confidence and I am all for empowering other women and supporting other women in their decisions that they decide to make.

“I did this for me. The first video is the morning before my operation in early January and the second video is me this morning.”

The Instagram post received over 28,000 likes but has divided fans. Some people have praised the actress for being honest about her breast surgery journey, whilst others have commented that if she is an advocate for normalising bodies this was not the right message to send.
