Bristol Animal Rescue Centre are hoping to find foster parents and forever homes for the loving dogs in their care. The centre has been supporting Bristol’s furry creatures since 1887 and currently has 10 dogs on its books hoping for a fresh start in life.
These range from puppies to older dogs hoping to bring a little extra joy to your life. Each dog will have its own requirements before being adopted based on its previous experiences. Some of the dogs were not given the best start in their life so may n, to see more visit www.bristolarc.org.uk/
1. Russell
Russell is a lovely little chap who just needs some consistency and a little TLC in his life. It will take Russell a few meetings to be comfortable with his new adopters, so applicants must be prepared and able to take the time to keep visiting Russell and building that trust with him. Although he is a friendly boy, Russell has certain anxieties about being left on his own and about visiting the dreaded vets! This is mostly due to his lack of confidence, so his new family will need to be patient with him and desensitise Russell to these situations through positive reinforcement. Russell is a real sweetie who just needs a calm, experience home to help build his confidence and to throw squeaky balls around for him to chase! He could potentially live with another small confident dog, pending introductions | BARC
2. Kali
Kali is a sweet young girl who still has so much to learn and experience. She would really benefit from a calm, consistent living environment where she can be loved and nurtured by her new family. By living in a quieter home, Kali will have the chance to build up her confidence gradually without feeling overwhelmed. She has a lot of love to give once she knows you, but can be quite nervous and reserved when meeting new people. Kali is especially worried by men, but since being at Bristol ARC she has successfully forged relationships with our male carers. For this reason, she will need adopters who have the time and patience to further her development at a pace that suits her. An active home would suit Kali best, with adopters who are happy to accommodate her needs as a young, large breed dog who has been greatly under-socialisation up until this point. | BARC
3. Edith
Edith is a very special French Bulldog who has had a terrible start in life. However, she has put all that behind her and is now ready to find the loving home she’s always wanted. Edith is a great dog with a wonderful personality, and she could potentially live with another dog or a confident cat. She is a very affectionate dog that enjoys the company of people and loves cuddles. As a breed, French Bulldogs tend to have some medical issues and cannot tolerate too much exercise which is important to consider before applying. If you are looking for a sweet natured friend, Edith is the one for you! | barc
4. Binx
Binx is an active, clever young dog who would be ideal for adopters that were interested in dog sports or extensive training. This clever lad could also be suited to life as a working dog in a variety of scent detection fields. Binx is friendly towards people and loves toys more than anything in the world – especially tennis balls! Although he walks nicely on lead, he can become frustration around other dogs. He may bark when he sees them on a walk, but we feel this can be improved over time with consistent training. As a high energy dog, Binx will needs to be kept stimulated mentally and physically, and is looking for experienced adopters who can provide him with everything he needs. | BARC
