Cobra Coffee, trading as Starbucks, needs consent for three air conditioning condenser units on the roof and has commissioned a noise assessment which concludes the impact on the nearest residents, who include students living in flats above the shop, would be acceptable.

Planning documents say the proposed signage is different and more sensitive than the company’s standard frontages “in response to the heritage considerations associated with the listed building and conservation area status”.
