NatWest has confirmed the closure of two high street banks in Bristol.

Two high street banks in Bristol have announced they will be closing this summer due to a drop in over-the-counter transactions as more customers turn to online banking.

The NatWest branches on Wells Road, in Knowle, and on the High Street, in Westbury-on-Trym have penned letters to its customers informing them of the decision. The national bank stated that counter transactions had dropped by almost two-thirds, largely due to people switching to online banking and not visiting branches in person, since the start of the Covid pandemic.

The Knowle NatWest will close on July 12 - anyone who needs a counter transaction can use the Post Office based across the road. The Westbury-on-Trym branch is set to close on August 8.
