National Walking Month: Bristol ranks in top five for best UK cities for relaxing walks

Ahead of National Walking Month in May, a new study has identified the best cities in the UK for relaxing walks.

Injury Claims analysed over 200,000 reviews of popular parks across 74 major UK cities and towns and ranked the cities based on the percentage of Tripadvisor reviews which mentioned words associated with relaxation.

Bristol claimed second place with an overall index score of 23.72%. Bristol boasts green spaces, woodlands and gardens which create a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to visit.

The term “peaceful” was the most common word used to describe the city’s parks in the reviews.

The overall winner for the best city in the UK for a relaxing walk was Hereford with an index score of 28.88%. In third place was Lincoln (21.97%) with its Hartsholme Park, followed by Milton Keynes (18.63%) with Emberton Country Park as a highlighted destination. Oxford ranked fifth (17.47%) with Christ Church Meadow.
