Police want to speak to the man regarding the racially aggravated criminal damage offence

Avon & Somerset Police have launched an appeal to find a man in connection with a ‘hate crime’ where a brick was thrown through a cafe window.

The force is appealing for the public’s help to identify the man, pictured, regarding the racially aggravated criminal damage offence in Gloucester Road on November 12.

The man is described as white, bald, believed to be in his 50s, and is shown wearing a black-quilted jacket, blue jeans and white trainers. 

An Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said: "On Sunday 12 November at around 3.20am, an unknown man approached a café in Gloucester Road, Bishopston, and threw a brick through the large front window.

"The damage is thought to have cost around £3,000 and is being treated as a hate crime."

Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to call 101, giving the reference number 223277238. They can alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
