A man has died in Bristol following an incident in the city centre, police have confirmed.

Officers from were called out to the incident near the NCP car park at around 2.45am today (April 5).

Avon and Somerset Police said a man was found seriously injured on Rupert Street.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the man died soon after. There remains a heavy police presence around the scene this morning.

A police spokesperson said: “At around 2.45am today a man was found seriously injured on Rupert Street. Emergency services attended but sadly, he died a short time later.

“We’re currently in the process of identifying the man so we can inform his next of kin as a priority.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious, however, a cordon remains in place and the nearby NCP carpark is closed while enquiries are carried out.”
