Man charged with murder after death of woman at holiday park near Bristol

A 70-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman at a holiday park in Brean.
Simon Steeves, of Weston Road, has been charged in connection with the death of a 59-year-old woman in Diamond Meadow Lodge Park.

Hide AdThe charge comes after officers were called to the holiday park at around 4.50pm on Wednesday, October 25 to respond to a report of a woman with a significant injury.
The victim was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at 5.20pm, despite the efforts of officers.
Detective Inspector Neil Meade of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) said: “Formal identification has yet to take place, however we believe the deceased to be Denise Steeves.
“Her family has been fully updated on this development and our continued thoughts are with them as they come to terms with what has happened.

Hide Ad“We will continue to carry out a full and thorough investigation as this case progresses.
“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area and our officers are still available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.”
Steeves was due to appear at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 27.
