Man charged with firearm possession after assault in Barton Hill

He appeared in court with a woman who was charged with wounding with intent

Two people have appeared in court, one charged with possession of a firearm, after an assault in the Barton Hill area of Bristol left a man needing hospital treatment.

Officers were called to the Barton Hill Trading Estate at about 4.45pm on Monday (July 4) after an injured man sought help at one of the units there.

The man mentioned a weapon before ‘losing consciousness’.

He went to hospital by ambulance and was discharged later that night following treatment to his injuries.

This afternoon (Wednesday, July 6) Matthew Henderson, 50, of Grosvenor Road, St Paul’s, was charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and wounding with intent.

He was remanded into custody pending his next appearance.

Celina Norris, 36, of Sutton Hill Road, Bishop Sutton, was charged with wounding with intent.

She also appeared before Bristol Magistrates this afternoon and was released on conditional bail pending the next hearing.
