Man arrested and hospitalised after violent disorder involving people with weapons

Detectives are investigating a disorder which took place in South Bristol earlier today (April 11) involving people with weapons.

The incident happened at about 2.50pm in the Inns Court area of Knowle West, police said, with reports on social media of a ‘large group of people in balaclavas carrying knives that looked like machetes’.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He has since been taken to hospital with injuries which aren’t believed to be life threatening.

Enquiries to locate the other people involved are ongoing.

Officers are also reviewing CCTV and carrying out door to door enquiries as they work to establish the circumstances of the incident.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who has footage of it, is asked to phone 101 and tell the call handler they're phoning in relation to log 562 of today.
