Independent brand Lucy & Yak has announced it will open a permanent store in Bristol, next month.

The ‘conscious clothing’ brand, known for its colourful dungarees, hosted a pop-up shop, Bristol & Yak, earlier this year in Stokes Croft.

Co-founder, Lucy Greenwood confirmed the brand would open its second UK store in Bristol, alongside its flagship Brighton shop.

She said: “We are so excited to be coming to Bristol permanently, following a great pop-up earlier this year.

“The city is such a cultural and creative place and one we can’t wait to be a part of.

“It also allows us to reach even more of our amazing community, which is something we plan to do more of this year and next – keep your eyes peeled.”

The store, at 20 Stokes Croft, will open on October 1.

Lucy co-founded the brand alongside her partner, Chris, after the pair made handmade pouches from pre-made clothes while in New Zealand.

Upon returning to the UK, the duo bought an old VW camper van, named Yak, which became their home and office.

The pair hope the Bristol store will become a space for customers to recycle, repair or upcycle their clothes.
