A pub in Keynsham has reopened after a £120,000 refurbishment - and with a new name. The Keynsham Courtyard, formally The Wine Bar, opened on Friday (February 3).

Owner Admiral Taverns says it has given the pub an updated look with new flooring and light fittings. Outside, the pub has been painted a vibrant blue with fresh new signage to welcome residents back.

Licensee Rob Moore said: “I am thrilled to be reopening The Keynsham Courtyard and showcase its revitalised look and feel to the community. I am extremely pleased with the results so far and am proud of how I’ve taken this pub from strength to strength over the last two years. I cannot wait to welcome the community back to their local and highlight all the pub’s new and fantastic offerings.”

The pub is also offering a new selection of drinks including speciality cocktails. There are also plans to introduce food in the future. Live music will continue to take place every Friday and Saturday evening and there is a fortnightly quiz and an open mic night every Sunday.

Additionally, Rob will also hold weekly mental health coffee mornings to combat loneliness. These will take place every Friday, welcoming anyone and everyone for a coffee and a chat.

The reopening comes as work continues on turning the old HSBC bank into a cafe-bar. Mokka Lounge has applied for a premise licence for the landmark site. The company already has a bar in Downend.
