Inquest opens into death of man who died in Brislington street fight as six men face trial accused with murder

An inquest into the death of a man died in during a street fight in Brislington has been opened and adjourned.

Aranit Lleshi, from London, died after an altercation between several men broke out on Bloomfield Road during the evening of May 24.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the 32-year-old died from multiple stab wounds.

Six men have since been charged with his murder:

Brikel Palaj, 32, of Heavitree Road, London; Kastriot Mhillaj, 34, of no fixed address; Rinush Behari, 32, of Bunton Street, London; Radian Lika, 35, of Watkinson Road, Islington, London; Nikola Palaj, 28, of Heavitree Road, London and Sadik Lleshi, 34, of Culvert Road, Tottenham, London were remanded in custody after appearing via video link at Bristol Magistrates’ Court last week.

The six men have previously appeared in court charged with violent disorder.

A plea and case management hearing is set for July 22 at Bristol Crown Court.

At Avon Coroner’s Court this morning (Wenesday, June 29), senior coroner for Avon Maria Voisin opened the inquest into Mr Lleshi’s death.

Ms Voisin adjourned the inquest to resume at a later date - no specific date was given.
