From beautiful open fields and homely cafes to unusual stores and fascinating museums, Bristol is full of wonderful hidden gems.
Since settling in Bristol, I’ve found a few and been recommended many more which I haven’t found time to explore just yet.
It was tricky to pick between them, but here are five of my favourite hidden gem attractions found in Bristol.
And if you have your own hidden gems you’d like to share with us, please get in touch and let us know.
1. Brandon Hill
Another great spot for picnics on a clear day, Brandon Hill is located by Park Street. The park is adorned with stunning ponds and multiple tree-covered paths. Brandon Hill is also home to Cabot Tower where you can enjoy a 360-view of Bristol.
2. Marie Curie
Located on Gloucester Road, this shop is not your usual charity shop. It is constantly changing, with the items on sale moving around and being colour coded regularly. Marie Curie looks very different each week. The shop also organises market days and hosts local small businesses regularly.
3. Blaise Castle Estate
If you need a short escape from city life and crave to be surrounded by nature, this tranquil estate has got you covered. Blaise Castle Estate offers 650 acres of land to explore and even has a garden, a museum, caves, a plant nursery, a cafe - which even sells dog-friendly ice cream - and a castle.
4. La Ruca Cafe
The homely cafe is found on the top floor of the shop on Gloucester Road and serves a Chilean and Hispanic cuisine-themed menu. The cafe has a very tranquil and friendly environment, and also has vegetarian options and can cater to special dietary needs. Their milkshake is very refreshing on a hot, sunny day.
