The floating venue moored near Bristol Bridge at Welsh Back was bought by Thornbury’s 6 O’clock Gin distillery over the summer and the artisan spirits brand sees it as a showcase for its award-winning gins.

As well as a small bar where people can enjoy a gin-based cocktail, glass of wine or local craft beer, there is a retail shop selling 6 O’clock Gin products to take home.

Paul Sullivan, Managing Director of 6 O’clock Gin, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have purchased the Glassboat. Our plan is to retain as many original features as possible while breathing new life into this historic site.

“The re-launch of the Glassboat marks a significant milestone for us as we are able to bring our 6 O’clock Gin experiences right into the heart of the city.”

Paul told Bristol World that there are also plans to hold events on the Glassboat, including tastings and live music, as well as pop-up dining events with local chefs.
