Franchisee Laura Wilder, who now owns and operates two McDonald’s restaurants in Bristol, said: “We are delighted to open another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Bristol and can’t wait to see local customers enjoy our services on offer.

“People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create.

“We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality. It’s particularly exciting to be opening this new restaurant as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th year in the UK!”

The new 74-seater restaurant has created around 120 new full and part-time jobs for the local community and features table service, self-ordering kiosks, and a Drive-Thru with Smart Digital Drive-Thru menu boards.

Mayor of Emersons Green Town Council, James Hunt, joined the crew to open the new restaurant. He said: “I’m delighted to attend the opening of this brand new McDonald’s restaurant bringing investment and employment to the local community in Emersons Green.

“The council and I look forward to working with Laura and the restaurant team as they continue McDonald’s great work in serving the local community.”

The new McDonald’s is also first to trial the sustainable innovations of air windows which help to retain heat within the building, and plastic kerbstones made from recycled materials.
