A popular Wickes store in Bristol is set to close permanently within days.
The trade and DIY store on Winterstoke Road in Ashton Gate is due to close its doors on Saturday (February 24).

Hide AdAround 30 employees are set to be affected by the closure, BristolWorld understands, who will be deployed to other locations.
On notices around the establishment, customers are advised to visit the nearest Wickes store on Aldermoor Way in Longwell Green.
The reasons for the closure are unknown, but are understood to be linked to plans for a new Ashton Gate Sporting Quarter on the site of the store and the neighbouring businesses.

Hide AdBristol Sport has plans for a sports and convention centre, hotel, block of 125 flats, new offices and shops, a multi-storey car park and a club museum on the site next door to Ashton Gate Stadium.
