12 incredible photographs showing how Bristol looked during the 1990s

Do you remember how Bristol looked during the 199

Bristol was well and truly defining itself as one of the UK’s coolest cities during the 90s - while most around the country debated Blur or Oasis, the city celebrated four Massive Attack albums, ending the decade with the band’s magnum opus, Mezzanine.

A new wave of graffiti was being sprayed onto buildings across the city by the DryBreadZ Crew - the starting point for Bansky. There were visits by Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Charles, and the Church of England’s first-ever women priests were ordained at Bristol Cathedral.

The city’s appearance was also changing with its council reshaping many areas. BristolWorld has selected 12 images from the archives showing how Bristol looked during the 1990s - enjoy!
