Great Bristol Run 2025: Record number of runners set to take part in this year's 2-day event
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run 2025 is set to see a record number of participants, with over 23,000 expected to join this year's event.
Only 150 places are available for the 10k race after the popular half-marathon event sold out.
More than 23,000 runners are expected to take part in this year’s two-day event (May 10 and 11), including at the brand new Junior & Mini event on May 10, which will see the Minis (aged 3 to 8 years old) enjoy a 1.5km dash and Juniors (aged 8 to 15) take on their own 2.5k challenge.
Both of these courses will start at College Green and feature a fun city centre route with on-course music and entertainment.
Stars of the UK hit show Gladiators will be the official starters for the Junior & Mini event and will be ready to meet young runners at the finish line for high fives and photos.
Paul Foster, Chief Executive of The Great Run Company, said: “A fun, high-energy start to Bristol’s weekend-long celebration of running, the new Junior & Mini event gives younger runners a chance to shine and to share the excitement of the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run – hopefully inspiring a lifetime enjoyment of running.
“We can’t wait to reveal which two Gladiators will be joining us at College Green!”
Stacey Vincent, from Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal added: “It’s wonderful for younger runners to have their own special day at the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run and we can’t wait to see everyone there!
“By taking part, all the fantastic Junior and Mini runners are supporting Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal and vital care for sick children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
