Bristolians, get ready as the Great Bristol run is back with three fabulous races this weekend.

Runners get ready as the ever-popular Great Bristol run is returning this weekend.

The annual Great Bristol Run event will see Bristol city centre transformed into a race track on Sunday (September 25) as it prepares to host three separate races for athletes of all abilities.

Whether you are taking part in the family-run, The Bristol 10k or the most gruelling of them all - The Bristol Half Marathon - each race will feature some breathtaking views of the city’s most well-known landmarks including the city’s Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge.

All three races will take off from the heart of Bristol City Centre located at the following postcode: BS1 4SS

The Family Run

Also known as ‘The Family Mile, The Family Run is a child-friendly one-mile experience, with kids receiving a medal that they can show off to friends and family, as well as some edible treats, spot prizes and fancy dress for when they pass the finish.

Budding athletes will take off from Anchor Road, pass St .Augustine’s Parade, follow the road round onto Christmas street and hit the finish line at Millenium Square.

The Bristol 10k

The official route of the 10k run, which will see you tread 6.2 miles through the city of Bristol, has also been confirmed.

The 10k route starts in the city centre and takes runners past the vibrant waterfront before crossing onto Spike Island, through Wapping Wharf and a loop around the beautiful Queen Square which marks the halfway point – runners then cross over into Redcliffe before rounding the historical Castle Park on a final section through Old City, before the grandstand finish on Anchor Road.

The Bristol Half Marathon 2022

Whilst the hardest test of them all, the gruelling Great Bristol Half-Marathon, will see those who take part run for 13.1 miles run past the vibrant waterfront and out along the beautiful and peaceful Avon Gorge passing under the world-famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, before joining the 10k route at Spike Island.
