Good news as food hygiene ratings given to eight Bristol establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of Bristol’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Dao Chow at 12 Broad Quay, City Centre, Bristol; rated on January 31

• Rated 5: KASUNDI indian takeaway at 135 Church Road, Redfield, Bristol; rated on January 30

• Rated 5: Indian Cottage at 72 Hollway Road, Stockwood, Bristol; rated on January 23

• Rated 5: Paprika Indian Cuisine at 16-18 Gilda Parade, Whitchurch, Bristol; rated on January 22

• Rated 5: Three Brothers Burgers Aboard Spyglass at Three Brothers Burgers, Welsh Back, City Centre, Bristol; rated on January 17

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: The Cottage Inn at The Cottage Inn Baltic Wharf Water Leisure Centre, Cumberland Road, Hotwells, Bristol; rated on January 22
