Dutton Road: Fire incident in Stockwood leads to large response from emergency services

Emergency services have been called to a fire in Stockwood this afternoon. At least 10 vehicles from Avon and Somerset Police, South Western Ambulance Service and Avon Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident in Dutton Road, off Sturminster Road, in Stockwood at just before 3.30pm.

A person was rescued from the first floor of a property. Pictures from the scene show the road closed as emergency workers tended to the incident. An air ambulance also landed nearby, according to reports.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service has issued a statement to Bristol World. It said: A number of crews from Avon Fire & Rescue Service were called to a fire at a property in Stockwood at 15:29.

“On arrival, crews found a fire affecting the first floor of the property. Fire crews rescued one casualty who was inside the property, and all persons have been accounted for.

“The casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance colleagues. Crews remain at the scene checking for hotspots and making the scene safe.”

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed to Bristol World that officers were at the scene to help with the road closure.

Bristol World has contacted South Western Ambulance Service for a statement on this live situation.
