‘Essential’ roadworks set to remain outside Bristol Parkway station for another month

Roadworks that have been triggering tailbacks outside Bristol Parkway station are set to stay in place for another month.
Wales & West Utilities is currently upgrading the gas network in Stoke Gifford but have had to install three-way traffic lights on North Road as a result.

Hide AdThe ultility firm say that while contractors are making ‘good progress’ at the site, the work won’t be completed until August 19.
Ross O’Donnell, who is managing this gas pipe upgrade work , said: “While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Stoke Gifford.
“This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.
“We will work as safely and as quickly as possible to finish the work, whilst keeping inconvenience to a minimum for local people and road users.”

Drivers travelling in the are have been urged to ‘allow extra time’ while the roadworks are in place.
