The Department for Education have announced it will be introducing free breakfast clubs across over 500 new schools in England, including 12 in Bristol, by April.
The scheme would mean that these schools would provide 30-minute sessions before school where children get a free breakfast so that they start every day ready to learn.
The new roll out, will mean that 1,250 schools across England will be providing free breakfast clubs, which would be available to more than 300,000 children.
It forms part of the national roll out which will see free breakfast clubs in every primary school in England in due course.
According to the Department for Education, the scheme will mean that working parents will be able to drop their children off half an hour earlier – helping parents get into work, giving them up to 95 additional hours back to juggle busy mornings, and saving working families up to £450 a year.
