Avon and Somerset Police has confirmed investigations are ongoing after seizing a motorhome captured on a rampage appearing to damage police vehicles in Bishopsworth. The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen, and on false plates, from Congresbury, close to where an explosion damaged a cash machine.

Police were initially called to a service station in Congresbury at about 10.36pm on October 26 after the explosion was reported. No money was taken. A video of the rampage has been distributed on social media, with one Tik Tok video having more than 50,000 views.

The video appears to shows multiple police cars surrounding the motorhome on a residential street before it collides head-on with a police vehicle, twice, and takes off. The motorhome is then seen reversing into another police car and eventually driving away.

A police spokesperson told Bristol World: “Officers in marked vehicles searching the area came across a motorhome and its driver failed to stop. Police traced the vehicle to the Fernsteed Road area of south Bristol later that night and the motorhome was used to damage the marked police cars.

“A man was arrested nearby in connection with the incident and later released under investigation. Positive lines of enquiry are being followed in relation to a second man, believed to have been the driver of the motorhome.

“The white Adria Matrix Axess motorhome has been seized. It was found to have been stolen from Well Park, Congresbury, on September 6, and was on false plates. A second vehicle matching the description of one seen at the service station was found abandoned on Brinsea Road, Congresbury. The white Fiat Ducato had been stolen from Dixon Road in Bishopston sometime between October 22 - 25 and was also on false plates.”
