I tried six delicious doughnuts from new Bristol bakery Crosstown - and one came out top

Who’d have thought peanut butter and blackcurrant would come together so well in a doughnut

A new doughnut store has opened its first bakery in Bristol - and we’ve already sampled a batch.

Crosstown, at 21 Queens Rd, will give away its signature Tongan Vanilla Bean Glaze and Dark Chocolate Truffle doughnuts from 12pm on February 25 as a lunchtime treat. BristolWorld’s Mark Taylor has been lucky enough to get his hands on a batch of six doughnuts to taste before the giveaway.

The bakery already has stores in London, Cambridge, Oxford, and Brighton. Co-founder Adam Willis said: “We want them to experience the magic of great coffee and fresh sourdough doughnuts. Our site in Clifton offers our customers a chance to relax and watch the world go by. It is clear to us that Bristol is a city that is all about supporting its community, we look forward to getting out and doing our part as well.”

Featuring the aforementioned signature treats along with a few surprise combinations of flavours, here is Mark’s verdict:
