Stockwood: Cops probe ‘unexplained death’ after human remains are discovered in woodland

Police have sealed off woodland in Bristol following the discovery of human remains.

They were found in woodland near Whittock Square, Stockwood, with officers from Avon and Somerset Police arriving at the scene at around 9.50am yesterday (Sunday, November 14).

A cordon is currently in place while a forensic investigation is carried out.

The remains have not yet been identified and the death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’, say the force.

A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

“Work to establish the identity of the deceased is likely to take some time.”
