A woman in her 20s was found to have been stabbed and taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

Police then arrested a man, also in his 20s, on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody where he is currently being questioned over the incident.

Detectives and forensics officers have taped off the property and are carrying out enquiries there.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said that officers believe this to be an isolated incident and that they have upped patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
