A man has appeared in court accused of murding Claire Holland, who went missing 10 years ago.

Darren Osment appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court this morning (August 4) charged with one count of murder.

The charge sheet states Osment, of Chessel Drive, Patchway, is accused of murdering the 32-year-old mother-of-four between June 5 and June 8 2012.

Osment was remanded in custdoy to next appear at Bristol Crown Court on August 5.

Claire, from Lawrence Weston, was last seen leaving city-centre pub Seamus O’Donnell’s at 11.15pm on June 6 2012 - before being reported as missing a few days later.

She has not been seen or heard from since despite several mass searches and appeals for information.

Last night, Avon and Somerset Police announced they had charged Osment following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service.
