The winners, who live in Rock Close, each pocketed £30,000 after their postcode, BS4 4LN, was announced as a winner with the lottery on Saturday April 1. Pensioner David Roman, 79, said: “Cor Blimey £30,000! Believe you me, we thought someone was having us on and I’ve got some funny mates.”

David’s wife Jackie added: “It’s beyond our wildest dreams. I went all shaky, we thought it was a hoax. You hear about people winning but you never think it’s going to be you.”

The couple are planning a once-in-a-lifetime cruise with their winnings.

Jackie said: “We’re going to go on a cruise from Dubai to South Africa via India. At the end of that, thanks to this money, we might even be able to tac on an African Safari.”

David said: “She’s wanted a new sewing machine for some time. So, we’ll be taking a ride up to the trading estate and getting her a sewing machine that she wants.

Jackie joked: “All of a sudden, I’m glad I’m Mrs Roman.”

David, an avid golfer, is also going to treat himself to a new golf buggy with the winnings. Only a month ago, the Postcode Lottery visited the Bristol area when four neighbours in Thornbury bagged £140,000.
