COP 26 Bristol protest: Times and location for event with hundreds expected to join
Hundreds of people are expected to gather on College Green for a global event on climate justice tomorrow (November 6).
Aligned to the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow, this event starts at 12pm, with a march happening at 1 pm.
A rally at College Green will then get underway at 3pm.

Hide AdAmongst the speakers at the rally are representatives of UNISON South West and Labour Party Councillor Hib Jama.
The Bristol branch of Unison has also called on its members to join the march, telling people to meet by the Queen Victoria Statue at College Green.
This protest is hosted by the COP26 Coalition which is a UK-based partnership between several groups working together for climate justice.
On a social media page for the event, 427 people have said they will be attending.

Hide AdThe coalition has a set of demands for world leaders including no new fossil fuel investments or infrastructure and grant-based climate finance for the Global South.
They are calling on people to meet at 12pm tomorrow and bring messages that they want to get out there about the climate crisis.
The global day of action has events planned all over the world including Istanbul, Mexico City, Stockholm as well as all over the UK.
Those attending should read the organisation’s Covid safety guidance ahead of Saturday.

Hide AdFor those unable to attend in person they will also be holding a digital rally which will broadcast speakers from Glasgow as well as the local in-person protests.
The organisers behind the Bristol event have called on people to help out on the day through volunteering.
What happens after the global day of action?
COP26 Coalition has created a free programme of in-person and digital events, called the People’s Summit, starting November 7 which focuses on education and empowerment to build on the momentum and keep climate justice at the forefront of people’s minds.
