Christmas 2022 bin collection dates: When your rubbish and recycling will be collected in Bristol
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Christmas: it’s the one time of year that rubbish seems to accumulate at a much faster rate compared to other holidays. With the wealth of wrapping and ribbons used to keep a tight lid on what is being gifted over Christmas, so comes the concerns that there might not be enough room in the bin. Especially when bin collections might be wholly different across this time of year.

For those in South Gloucestershire, the dates across Christmas are identical to those in Bristol with the added exception that from January 2 2023 normal collection dates will resume. Reuse and Recycling Centres in Bristol and South Gloucestershire will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day but will remain open in between - though remember to book an appointment with the centres and bring the relevant ID required.
For those who have real Christmas trees that they need to dispose of, Bristol City Council have advised residents check their collection calendars and locate the date which bears a Christmas tree icon - this will be the only date that Christmas trees will be collected, with any missed collections required to be taken directly to Reuse and Recycling Centres.
