A takeaway business near Bristol has been handed a new zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

New Canton House, a Chinese takeaway at 1 Pill Street, Pill, was given the minimum score after assessment on November 2, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The inspectors said 'major improvement' was necessary when it came to management of food safety and the cleaniness and condition of the facilities and building.

It means that of North Somerset's 138 takeaways with ratings, 84 (61%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
