Bristol has an impressive track record when it comes to educating famous faces. The city has schooled some of the most familiar celebs on TV, best-selling authors and world-champion sports stars.
BristolWorld has decided to put together a list of 10 of the most famous people to attend school in Bristol. The picks are among some of the finest in their field - with the celebs performing in some of the most popular TV shows and films, helping to run the country during a pandemic and, most recently, captaining their country on the field.
The schools are spread across the city with the south, centre and outskirts of Bristol getting a mention. How many of these people did you know went to school here and did any attend the same school as you or your children?

5. Ellis Genge - Knowle Park Primary

6. Joel Dommett - Castle School
Joel Dommett is an actor, author, comedian, and television presenter who grew up just outside of Bristol. He attended Castle School, in Thornbury. 7. Sajid Javid - Downend School
Originally born in Rochdale, Conservative MP Sajid Javid moved to Stapleton Road during his childhood and attended Downend School until 1986. After this, he moved on to Filton College (now SGS College). He served as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from June 2021 to July 2022 before stepping down admist the Downing Street Party Gate scandal. | Getty Images

8. David Prowse MBE - Bristol Grammar School
Arguably cinema’s most iconic villain was born in Bristol. David Prowse MBE, who sadly died in 2017, was born in 1935 and attended Bristol Grammar School before going on to have success as an actor, bodybuilder and weightlifter.
