Bristol's 'first of its kind' new dementia support hub and community cafe Happy Days Hub to open soon
A ‘first of its kind’ new support hub for people concerned about or affected by dementia is set to open in Bristol soon.
Happy Days Hub is due to open within Ambition House, Ambition Lawrence Weston’s new community building, at 2pm on Monday March 24.

The hub, run by Bristol Dementia Action Alliance (BDAA), will then operate Mondays on Fridays with a community cafe open to all from 10am to 2pm.
It will offer preventative awareness and management of conditions which can affect us as we age and could increase the risk of developing dementia.
BDAA and partners will educate about diabetes, high blood pressure and hearing loss as well as other conditions.
The hub will also host a variety of social groups including memory cafes and carer support groups.
Lisa Dicker, community development manager at BDAA, said: “We would love for this hub to be part of the community and for local residents and businesses to play a key part in the success of this much needed resource.”
Those who can volunteer at the hub in roles including supporting the cafe, helping with activities and being companions at the groups are asked to visit www.bdaa.org.uk/volunteering/ or email [email protected].
