A heavy downpour caused problems on the road this morning (October 23) - with further rain expected later likely to again cause issues. It comes amid a yellow warning for thunderstorms issued by the Met Office for the Bristol region.

The rain came down early this morning with images and reports on social media highlighting the disruption. In Keynsham, flooding at the roundabout next to the Waitrose was causing long delays on the A4 Bath Road in Saltford.

While in Brislington, Wendy Edgeworth took this image of the dip in Allison Road flooded at 9.52am. She said cars were having to turn around due to the depth of the water on the road, which leads to Sandy Park Road.

Rachel Youren, commenting under Wendy’s post on Facebook, said it was a similar situation in Hollywood Road outside the Kings Arms, and at the bottom of School Road by the Texaco Garage.

A Met Office thunderstorm warning is currently in place until 2am tomorrow. Heavy rain is likely to take place again at around 6pm. A second warning then comes into place for Monday morning, expected to lift by 2am the following day, with heavy showers most likely from 1pm to 2pm.
