Bristol is braced for gusts of up to 50mph after the Met Office issued an alert for strong winds in the city. The yellow-level warning came into effect at 10am this morning (March 13) and will remain in place until this evening at 6pm.
The warning affects most of southern England as well as parts of the Midlands including other large cities such as Birmingham and London. Forecasters have warned the “strong and gusty southwesterly winds” may lead to some disruption, particularly for prone high-sided vehicles.
