A Bristol sandwich shop has been chosen as South West finalist in the Uber Eats Restaurant Awards 2023.

Sandwich Sandwich, which has several Bristol shops including Baldwin Street, will now be invited to create their dishes for a panel of specialist judges including celebrity chefs Prue Leith and Monica Galetti.

The overall winner will be announced in October and will receive a £100,000 prize to invest in their restaurant.

Sandwich Sandwich launched in 2009 and now has five locations. The Baldwin Street shop is well known locally for the length of its queues most lunchtimes as regulars line up for their favourite sandwiches.

Owner Nick Kleiner said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named a finalist in this years Uber Eats restaurant of the year award. We are struggling to put into words our appreciation to each and every one of our amazing customers.

“We promise to continue working tirelessly to exceed your expectations and make you proud. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being the most important part of this journey! Now on to London and we will do our very utmost to bring this incredible accolade home to the south west.”

Mr Kleiner added: “We are excited to announce that we hope to open two locations in London next year and winning this amazing prize will go a long way to achieving this dream.”
