BUMP Rollerdisco is moving its venue into Central Warehouse on Wellington Road in St Jude's.

The new site is due to open on February 3 with a party, following the completion of renovation work.

BUMP was previously based on Redcliffe Wharf, where a long-delayed development is due to start soon.

Announcing its new home, BUMP wrote on Instagram: “Now the renovations have started, we are happy to announce that we have moved into Central Warehouse.

“We are super excited to have such a big indoor space to hold all of our events in and once we have finished renovating it, we will be ready to open our doors."

BUMP offers roller skating lessons to adults, children, and disabled people, and also provides tickets at a reduced rate to groups on low incomes.

The roller disco opened on the plot next to Redcliffe Caves and the Redcliffe Bascule Bridge in summer 2021 with DJs and roller skates for hire, before closing on December 9, 2023.

“Unfortunately the developers want to start building their flats and want Redcliffe Wharf back," BUMP wrote about its roller rink closing in December.

“Therefore we will be packing up our rink and saying goodbye to Redcliffe Wharf as a skating destination.

“We have loved Redcliffe Wharf and turned it from a misused piece of land, to a skating destination in Bristol, enjoyed by all.”

The site at Redcliffe Wharf has been earmarked for redevelopment for more than a decade but has suffered years and years of delay.

Developer Complex Development Projects have planning permission to build 45 apartments there, as well as 6,000 square metres of commercial space, 12 moorings and a water bus stop.

The planned date to eventually start work is April 12, 2024 and it is expected to last until July 2027.
