But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

A4, from 8pm August 9 to 6am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 westbound, Crowley Way lane closure on behalf of BT.

M32, from 10pm August 9 to 6am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound and southbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - Lane closure for Structure maintenance works.

A4, from 9pm August 10 to 5am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 westbound, St Brendans Roundabout to St Andrews Roundabout Lane closures for Electrical works.

M32, from 9am August 15 to 3pm August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 both directions, junction 1 lane closure on exit slips for street cleansing on behalf of South Gloucestershire.

M32, from 9pm August 17 to 6am August 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 southbound, junction 2 to 3 lane closure for Bristol City Council sign installations.

M49, from 10pm August 18 to 6am August 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 exit Slip to A4 St Brendans Roundabout - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting) works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
