Bristol road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

Bristol's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bristol's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A4, from midnight, October 16 to 11pm December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 Portway Roundabout to St Andrews Roundabout used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Severn Beach route.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

A4, from 10pm November 21 to 6am November 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 entry slip road from the M49 closed. Includes lane closures on the M5 southbound, junction 17 to 19 - For maintenance works, diversion via the alternative entry slip from St Brendans Roundabout.

A4, from 10pm November 25 to 6am November 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 entry slip closed for drainage works. Diversion via, junction 18 and return.

M5, from 10pm November 28 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 18 to 19 - lane closures for maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
