Bristol road closures: five for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Bristol's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Bristol's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M49, from 8pm June 26 to 6am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M49 both directions M4, junction 22 to M5, junction 18a - lane closures for safety barrier work.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 10pm July 10 to 5am July 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 lane closures for structure maintenance.

M5, from 9pm July 17 to 5am July 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - lane closures for structure maintenance.

M5, from 9pm July 18 to 5am July 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 eastbound, St Brendans Roundabout to M5, junction 18 - lane closure for electrical works.

M5, from 9pm July 19 to 5am July 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 lane closures for structure maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
