Legendary Bristol nightclub Chasers is reopening its doors this month. The Kingswood venue, which has been namechecked by local comedians Stephen Merchant and Russell Howard, closed in January.

Chasers also closed for 16 months during the pandemic but reopened in July 2021 after a refurbishment for six months of weekly club nights, live DJ sets and a New Year’s Eve party.

Chasers has been owned by the same family since 1980 and been a part of Kingswood night life for thousands of locals who fondly remember the club.

Now reopening for a new generation, as well as former Chasers clubbers, it has been upgraded with new aircon, ventilation, CCTV, fire safety and lighting.

A message on the Chasers Facebook page said: “Our goal is to make Chasers the best environment we can for our patrons.”

The relaunch party for Chasers will be on Friday, September 9, from 10pm-3am. Door entry is £5 between 10pm and 12am and £6 after 12am.

In keeping with its old-school image, perhaps, tickets will only be sold on the door on the night.

Since the news was announced on the Chasers Facebook page, more than 300 people have posted affectionate posts about the relaunch and their memories of the club. Many excited locals say they will be queuing for tickets from the morning of the event.
