A memorial football match in Bristol has raised more than £3,000 for the families of two boys killed in a double stabbing.

The match was held at The Park Knowle FC in Knowle West yesterday (February 4) following the deaths of Mason Rist, 15, and Max Dixon, 16, in the local community.

It was played between The Park FC's under-16s team - Max's former team - and away team Stoke Lane, ending in a draw.

Writing after the match on Facebook, The Park FC said: "What can we say about today, other than what an amazing club and community we have in Knowle West.

"You came out in your hundreds to show support and remember these two beautiful boys, Max and Mason."

A two-minute round of applause was held at the match in honour of the teenagers, with balloons and blue smoke also released.

Flowers were laid on the pitch and later moved to the floral tribute on Neqwquay Road, near where the boys were attacked on January 27 night.

In total, the match raised £3105.62, which will be split equally between the parents of Max and Mason.

The Park FC added: "All that's left to say today is Max you will be missed so so much here at Park Knowle FC and you will never ever be forgotten and your name, along with Mason's, will also be talked about forever.

"What a club we have and what a community we are."

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, is due to appear in court today (February 5) after being charged yesterday with the murder of the two boys.
