A Lidl supermarket in Bristol is temporarily closed following an emergency incident.

Lidl says an individual at its store on Whitchurch Lane in Bishopsworth was taken ill this morning (Friday, January 24), with emergency services called.

The store was temporarily closed as a result and will remain shut overnight.

A Lidl spokesperson told BristolWorld: “We can confirm that emergency services were called to our Whitchurch Lane store in Bristol this morning, due to an individual unfortunately being taken ill.

“The store remains temporarily closed but will reopen as normal tomorrow.

“Out of respect for those involved, we're unable to share any further information at this time.”
