Bristol’s award-winning hospitality group The Loungers have confirmed that they plan to open a huge new site on the harbourside.

The company behind the Lounge cafes and bars and Cosy Club are believed to be in advanced talks to take over the Pitcher & Piano site next to Pero’s Bridge.

Pitcher & Piano is understood to be closing this week, and it is thought that staff will be offered the chance to stay on when it changes hands and reopens as a Lounge in the summer.

A Loungers spokesperson told Bristol World: “We are in advanced negotiations regarding a site on Bristol’s harbourside and hope to open a Lounge there during the summer.

“We’re really proud of our Bristol heritage and hope that this location will allow us to welcome a new Lounge in our home city.

“Should we be successful in completing this deal, we look forward to the Bristol Pitcher & Piano team joining the Loungers family.”

In August 2022, Loungers celebrated the 20th anniversary of the opening of the original Lounge in North Street, Bristol. The company now has 219 Lounge sites around the UK.
