But the store on Belland Drive in Whitchurch is now not set to open until 6am on Sunday (February 11), increasing the closure to 14 days.

The entrance to the premises remains gated off and closed to the public while construction work takes place inside.

Explaining the closure, a Co-Op spokesperson said previously: “Our store on Belland Drive in Bristol is temporarily closed for some routine maintenance work.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working hard to re-open the store as soon as possible to serve the community.”
