A Bristol supermarket has closed for more than a week due to refurbishment works.

The store in Whitchurch, which shut its doors on Saturday (January 27) evening, is not due to reopen until midday next Tuesday (February 6).

A sign outside the shop on Belland Drive says: “Your store is having a makeover, so we’ll be closing temporarily.”

The entrance to the premises and cashpoint outside have been fenced off, with building work taking place inside.

The nearest alternative convenience store is a Premier, which is next door to the Co-Op.

A spokesperson for Co-op said: “Our store on Belland Drive in Bristol is temporarily closed for some routine maintenance work.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working hard to re-open the store as soon as possible to serve the community.”
