Yep, it’s that time of year again - as summer draws to a close, it’s time to set our sights on the merry festive season.

And what would Christmas in Bristol be without a trip to the city’s annual German market?

As well as over 50 stalls selling an array of unique gifts, food and drink, 2022 will see the return of the market’s Jäger Barn Bar and Christmas Igloos as well as brand new ski gondolas for hire.

Bristolians were gutted when the market was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic before it emerged once again in 2021. Now it’s back for 2022 - here’s everything you need to know.

When does Bristol Christmas Market 2022 open?

Bristol Christmas Market 2022 will return to the city on November 4.

The market will run until Tuesday, December 23 before closing that evening at around 6pm.

Official opening times for the market are yet to be revealed.

Where is Bristol Christmas Market 2022?

The Christmas Market will be returning to Broadmead in the city centre, where it is held every year.

Along the bustling shopping street you’ll find a mix of glittering decorations such as climbing and acrobatic Santa installations and hundreds of fairy lights along with Alfred the singing moose.

And who could forget the much-loved Christmas tree in front of Cabot Circus?

What’s on at Bristol Christmas Market 2022?

Gift and food stalls

There are over 50 stalls at Bristol Christmas Market selling magical marvels from all over Europe that you wouldn’t find in high street shops.

The market’s food stalls are definitely not something you want to miss, with delicious treats on offer such as traditional German bratwursts, Aberdeen-aged burgers, crepes, fudge and hot chocolate.

Jäger Barn Bar

After all that shopping, head to the market’s Jäger Barn Bar for a festive drink or two or pick up a warming drink to go.

Situated on Broadmead Piazza, the Bavarian-themed bar is an atmospheric spot for catching up with a Christmas tipple thanks to its traditional décor.

From Thursdays to Sundays, visitors will also be treated to a selection of live music there, perfect for getting in the festive spirit.

Christmas Igloos

The market’s Christmas Igloos are a great place to enjoy a festive treat with friends, family or your partner, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the market.

Guests can book their own private igloo and instantly be transported to the Arctic to enjoy a selection of bratwurst, cheese or charcuterie boards, washed down with Glühwein, hot cider or prosecco.

What’s new at Bristol Christmas Market 2022?

New for 2022 are ski gondolas in the Jäger Barn Bar. The gondolas are smaller than the Christmas Igloos and situated in the middle of the bustling bar, so a great option for date night.

Guests can take advantage of festive food and drinks packages with sharing platters and two drinks available for £55.
