Caring in Bristol, a charity which works to end homelessness in the city, has launched ‘Bristol’s Big Christmas Dinner’ to help feed people experiencing homelessness over the festive period.

Working in partnership with food waste charity FareShare South West, and entertainment venue Trinity Centre, Caring in Bristol will provide a restaurant-quality roast dinner cooked by top chefs from Team Canteen in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The meal will include traditional roast dinners and festive foods, suitable for all dietary needs and will run from Christmas Eve to December 30.

Bristol has one of the fastest rising rates of homelessness in the UK. With the weight of homelessness and the complex challenges of the cost-of-living crisis building for people across the city, providing a safe space for those in need is more important than ever before.

To offer more people a warm and caring Christmas, the charity is calling on the people of Bristol to donate to ensure they can make it the biggest year yet.

Last year over 540 people accessed the service, and the number is expected to rise this year.

Ben Richardson, charity director at Caring in Bristol, said: “At Caring in Bristol we are dedicated to delivering a range of projects that support people in moving away from life on the streets and help to prevent individuals from becoming homeless in the first place.

“The festive period can be a really difficult time for people experiencing housing insecurity and so it’s crucial we are offering support, so no one is left out in the cold this Christmas.

“As a charity we rely on the generosity of people who share our vision. We would be thrilled to be able to offer a Christmas to as many people as possible this year, so donations are hugely appreciated.”
